🚀 Getting Started
What is Clefora?
Clefora is a lesson management and parent communication platform for private music teachers. Teachers record lessons, set practice goals, track scales and repertoire, manage exam entries, create milestones, and send lesson digests to parents automatically. Parents see what happened in every lesson, track practice goals, and message the teacher directly.
How do I sign up for Clefora?
Download the Clefora app from the App Store or Google Play and create an account using your email or sign in with Google/Apple. Teachers can start adding students immediately, while parents receive an invitation from their child's teacher to connect.
Is Clefora free to use?
Yes! Clefora offers a free tier that includes all core features for teachers with smaller studios. Premium plans are available for teachers who want advanced features and unlimited students. Check our pricing page for current options.
How do teachers add students to Clefora?
Teachers add students through the app by entering the student's name and basic information. You can then invite parents to connect by sharing an invitation link or entering their email address directly.
How do parents join Clefora?
Parents receive an invitation from their child's music teacher via email or text message. Click the invitation link, download the app, and create an account to start receiving updates about your child's music lessons.
Can I use Clefora on multiple devices?
Absolutely! Clefora syncs across all your devices. Sign in with the same account on your phone, tablet, or computer to access your information anywhere. Changes sync automatically.
What devices does Clefora support?
Clefora is available as a mobile app for iOS (iPhone/iPad) and Android devices. We recommend using a device with a recent operating system for the best experience.

After adding a student, tap the "Invite Parent" option to generate an invitation link. Share this link via text message, email, WhatsApp, or any other messaging app the parent prefers.
Can multiple parents connect to one student?

Do students need their own account?
No, students don't need their own Clefora account. The platform is designed for teacher-parent communication. Students work with their teacher in lessons while parents track progress through the app.
⚡ Features and Functionality
What features does Clefora offer for teachers?
Clefora gives teachers six core capabilities: record lessons and send digests to parents automatically, set measurable practice goals parents can track at home, log scales and repertoire with mastery status, manage ABRSM, Trinity, and Rockschool exam entries with deadline reminders, create milestones that celebrate real achievements, and message parents securely with read receipts. Premium adds invoicing via Stripe, venue management, and unlimited students.
How does lesson recording work?
After each lesson, record what was covered, set practice goals for the coming week, update scales or repertoire progress, add milestones for achievements, and write private teaching notes. A lesson digest is sent to parents automatically, so they know exactly what happened and what to practise.
What are practice goals?
Practice goals are specific, measurable tasks teachers set between lessons. Instead of "practise more", set goals like "play C major scale hands together at 80 BPM" or "memorise bars 1-8 of Fur Elise". Parents see these goals in the app and can track completion at home.
How do milestones work?
Milestones celebrate significant achievements in a student's musical journey—like completing a song, mastering a technique, or passing an exam. Teachers create milestones that parents and students can see and celebrate.
Can I add private notes that parents cannot see?
Yes! Teachers can add private notes to any lesson that only they can see. Use these for teaching strategies, observations about learning style, or reminders for future lessons—completely private from parents.
How does messaging work in Clefora?
Clefora has built-in messaging so teachers and parents can communicate securely within the app. Messages are organized by student, so conversations stay focused and easy to find.
Can I see when parents read my messages?
Yes, Clefora shows read receipts so you know when parents have seen your messages. This helps teachers know when important updates have been received.
How do I track student progress over time?
Clefora maintains a complete history of lessons, milestones, and practice goals for each student. You can look back at any time to see how a student has progressed from their first lesson to today.
Can I customize practice goals for different instruments?
Yes! Practice goals are completely customizable. Whether you teach piano, guitar, violin, or voice, you can create goals that match exactly what each student needs to practice.
Does Clefora support multiple instruments per student?
Yes, if a student is learning multiple instruments, you can track lessons and progress for each instrument separately within the same student profile.
Can I export student data?
Yes, teachers can export lesson history and progress data for their records. This is useful for creating progress reports, preparing for recitals, or transitioning students.
How do notifications work?
Both teachers and parents receive push notifications for new messages, lesson summaries, completed practice goals, and milestone achievements. You can customize which notifications you want to receive.
Can I schedule lessons through Clefora?
Yes. Clefora includes a calendar with recurring lesson support. Set up weekly lessons, manage holiday cancellations, and handle rescheduling. Parents are notified automatically of any schedule changes.
Does Clefora handle payments or invoicing?
Yes. On Premium plans, teachers can create and send invoices through Clefora. Parents pay securely via Stripe, and payments go directly to the teacher's connected Stripe account. Teachers can track payment status and send reminders.
Can I use Clefora for group lessons?
Clefora is optimized for individual lessons with parent communication. While you can log group lesson activities, the platform works best for one-on-one teaching relationships.
