Monday — Lesson Day

The Teacher

You open Clefora before your 4pm piano lesson with Ava. Your private notes from last week are right there — she struggled with the left-hand passage in her Clementi sonatina. You know exactly where to pick up. After the lesson, you log it: what you covered, a short digest for her parents, and three practice goals for the week. It takes a couple of minutes, and the digest goes straight to her mum.

The Parent

Your phone buzzes at 4:45. Ava's lesson digest has arrived. You can see what she worked on, and the practice goals are written in plain language you actually understand: "Play the left-hand part of bars 9–16 slowly, three times each day." No jargon. No guessing. You know how to help tonight.

Wednesday — Between Lessons

The Teacher

Between lessons, you open Ava's page. Her parents gave her her own login, so you can see she has practised three evenings this week. Tom doesn't have a login, and that's fine — his dad reads every digest. When his dad messages to ask about scales, you answer in the same conversation, with every earlier message there for context.

The Student

After dinner, Ava opens Clefora on her own. Her practice goals are waiting. She plays bars 9–16 three times and logs fifteen minutes. Then she spends ten more on another of her pieces, and logs that as free practice. Her mum can see she did it without having to ask.

Friday — End of Week

The Teacher

Your week is done. Your dashboard lists what's left: two digests still to send, one overdue invoice, and an exam deadline coming up for Sam's Grade 5. You clear them in ten minutes. No spreadsheets. No trying to remember what you told which parent. It's all there.

The Parent

You can see Ava's progress building week over week — the pieces she's learning and how far through her curriculum she's come. Her music theory has its own goals and lessons, side by side with piano. When Grandma asks "How's the piano going?", you actually have an answer.

End of Term

The Teacher

Every lesson is already logged, so you create each family's term invoice from the term in a few clicks, check it and send it. Card payments go straight to your own Stripe account — Clefora takes nothing. If an invoice runs late, Clefora sends the reminders, so you never have to chase. Your Sunday evenings are yours again.

The Parent

The invoice arrives clearly itemised — piano and theory on their own lines, each at its agreed fee. You pay by card in a couple of taps, or tell Ava's teacher you've paid by bank transfer. Ava's Grade 3 exam entry is on her page too, with the session and what's left to prepare. No surprises.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do my students need to use Clefora?
No. Clefora gives you everything you need to run your teaching and your studio, whether or not a student ever signs in: lessons, notes, practice goals, progress, exams, messages and invoices. If a parent chooses to invite their child, the student gets their own login, sees their practice goals and pieces, and logs their practice. You and the parents can then see how much practice is happening between lessons.
How does a typical week look with Clefora?
On lesson day, you log what you covered and send a lesson digest to the parents, with practice goals for the week. Between lessons, students who have their own login log their practice, and parents can message you with questions. Your dashboard shows what needs doing next, such as digests to send, overdue invoices and exam deadlines. At the end of term, you turn the term into invoices, check them and send them.
Can I teach one student more than one subject?
Yes. If you teach a student piano and music theory, each subject keeps its own level, lessons, fee, practice goals, repertoire and exam entries. The family still has one conversation with you and gets one invoice, with each subject on its own line.
Does Clefora take a cut of my lesson fees?
No. Clefora takes 0% of lesson payments. Parents pay you directly through your own Stripe account, and Stripe charges its standard card fee. You pay for Clefora through your plan. Parents never pay Clefora anything.
Can parents see everything I write?
No. Parents see the lesson digests you send, practice goals, lesson times, progress, exam entries and invoices. Your private notes on lessons and pieces are visible only to you. Parents never see whether you have paused a subject, or your record of paying an exam board.
Do I need to install anything?
No special hardware or software. Teachers and parents can use the web dashboard in any browser, and the mobile app on iPhone and Android. Changes you make in one appear in the other straight away.
